John Dalton has stepped down from his position as Chairman of The Honest Men Trust (THMT). Secretary Neil Bone will act as Chairman in the interim up until the AGM, when a new Chair will be elected.

John said: “It is with a deep sense of regret that I have tendered my resignation as Chairman of The Honest Men Trust with immediate effect. It has been a pleasure, sometimes a difficult one but still a pleasure, to have been involved with the Trust since its inception nearly 10 years ago. I believe now is the right time to get some new blood and new ideas onto the Trust Board and with my role at Whittlets Victoria now increasing, someone able to lead the important work the Trust does in supporting Ayr United Football Club, Ayr United Football Academy and football in South Ayrshire as a focus for community involvement.

“I wish the Trust every success in future and hope that one day soon the Trust can have the influence on the club that the supporters deserve and have the opportunity to make a positive difference.”

Neil Bone said: “I would like to thank John for his efforts over the past 9-and-a-half years, especially since returning as Chairman in 2010. THMT can look forward to its 10 year anniversary in October thanks largely to the dedication and commitment John has shown, which is testament to his passion for Ayr United. John has been central to the successes of THMT and in laying the platform for future achievements.”

The process of seeking nominations and the election of members to the Trust Board will now begin, with an AGM to be held in July. Further details will be circulated to members in the coming weeks.
