Bob Doolally’s First Farewell Tour with Phil Differ  is presented by Fair Pley in association with Supporter’s Direct and the Co-Op Membership. Co-operative Membership in Scotland is delighted be assisting with a second comedy tour to help five supporters trusts to promote fan ownership and control of their clubs. Supporters Direct, the umbrella body for Supporters Trusts are urging fans to get behind their local Trust. Supporters Trusts ensure both the survival of their clubs and their development under local, democratic control. On the world stage FC Barcelona is founded on these very principles. David Dugan, from the Co-Op says: “The mutual model on which Supporters Trusts are based is a form of co-operative. We are delighted to continue to help Supporters Direct promote fan-ownership across Scotland. The days of “sugar daddies” arriving and departing on a whim are a thing of the past. We also recognise the huge amount of work undertaken by Trust members and we know that these comedy nights will be a reward for that work and attract new members and interest for each Trust. Supporter’s Direct project manager, Mark Reid, says; “Supporter Involvement and Supporter Ownership in football clubs across Scotland is the corner stone of what Supporters Direct Scotland represent. The importance that supporters and Football Trusts can play not only to develop their football clubs on match days, but in assisting the development and growth of their local communities can be profound and hugely beneficial to all within that community.” “The Bob Doolally Comedy Tour is another example of Football Trusts working in association with The Co-op group and Supporters Direct Scotland to offer local residents the opportunity to have a thoroughly enjoyable night while contributing to the on-going work of the Football Trust founded on the Co-operative principles that are at the centre of everything they do.” As Fair Pley, the tour managers, put it, “It’s been a real eye-opener to see all the work that each Trust puts in week in, week out. A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed and hopefully each trust will be able to raise much needed funds into the...

Goalden Goal – Week 1

Well its finally here – FOOTBALL IS BACK! GOALDEN GOAL IS BACK!! A huge thank you for signing up for Goalden Goal this season. The response has been fantastic. 67 minutes have been sold – over 30 more than last season – a big boost to the Trust. Special thanks to John Todd and all at the Club Shop for backing us this year (more on that later). For anyone needing a reminder of how this works, if Ayr United’s first goal is scored in the minute you’ve been drawn (listed below), you win! We use the minute given by the BBC website. If Ayr don’t score – or the goal is scored in a minute someone doesn’t have – the prize will roll over. The prize each match is £33.50 OR a £40 Club Shop Voucher. Got that? I’ve looked up the the Honest Men’s odds for winning the Scottish Cup – 500/1 so I guess if we can’t finish the season at Hampden Park we might as well start it there.  Queen’s Park haven’t beaten us at the National Stadium since September 1982 and I’m confident we’ll be celebrating a win. You can’t beat a bit of pre-season optimism! Good Luck!
