Backs The Honest Men Trust
Trust Society Board rep, Alan Farmer,
presents the Trust Shirt to Gretna's owner, Brooks Mileson.
The
Honest Men Trust yesterday presented Gretna owner, and football
trust supporter, Brooks Mileson with the Trust sponsored away
Ayr United top as a gift for his support of the Trust movement.
Members of the Trust Society Board had previously met Brooks
at a recent Scottish Supporter Direct Conference in Stirling
and have offered their help in assisting Gretna set up their
own Trust. Brooks, a self made millionaire, has backed various
Trusts in the UK with guidance and donations and with the Honest
Men Trust being the first Trust in the UK to ever sponsor their
team we wanted to say thank you. Despite our offer of the gift
Brooks refused to accept it unless he gave a donation and subsequently
handed THMT a sum of £2,000 for our Trust funds. Brooks
has also given his assurance he will help our Trust in the future
as we look to see Ayr United placed back into community ownership
in the long term. We would like to sincerely thank Brooks for
his kind assistance and donation, and we hope to speak with
the Gretna fans soon to offer our experiences to help them set
up the Gretna FC Supporters Trust. For further information
