Appoint New Chairman

New Chairman Callum Yorke and outgoing
Chairman Fraser McCallum
The
Honest Men have appointed Callum Yorke as their new Chairman.
Callum takes over the reins from Fraser McCallum who intends
to continue to assist the Trust wherever possible. The new Chairman
commented " I am delighted to get this opportunity to continue,
and to build on, the good work that the Trust has already done
in assisting Ayr United Football Club, as well strengthening
our links within the local community. I would like to thank
Fraser for the great work he has done and I am pleased that
he is still willing to play an active part in the Honest Men
Trust going forward. "
Racism
Gets The Red Card

Ayr United Amateurs and Ayr United
Football Club Show Racism The Red Card During The Weekend Of
Action
The
Honest Men arranged a number of events over the Weekend Of Action
in support of the anti racism campaign " Show Racism The
Red Card". At Somerset Park players wore t-shirts with
the clear message and prior to kick both United and Brechin
waved the red card. At the Scottish Cup tie between junior outfit
Girvan and local senior rivals Stranraer similar events took
place. At West of Scotland League Youth and amateur level events
also took place to provide a clean sweep across all levels of
football. The message was clear that racism has no place in
society or football. Many thanks to everyone who supported the
events.

Trust
Support KaisAyr

The
Honest Men Trust are delighted to announce the sponsorship of
the tracksuits of Ayr United Internet side, KaisAyr. The team,
pictured above, was formed in 1999 and were Scottish League
winners in 2003 and are unbeaten this season.
After
sponsoring the matchball recently against Berwick Rangers this
takes the amount forwarded to Ayr United Football Club to around
the £50,000 in services and benefits since our inception
in October 2003. In addition to the foregoing we also provide
travel to the majority of Away Games, annually support the fortnight
of Action with 'Show Racism the Red Card' and have sponsored
tracksuits/ run-outtops to: Kaisayr, AUFC Girls Under 15 and
the Ayr United Youth Academy collectively almost £2,000
of sponsorship.
In
the last fortnight we have been delighted to announce a £3,600
sponsorship package with the West of Scotland Boys Club League,
which will see the leagues sponsored under our, 'United Against
Racism' banner, for which The Honest Men Trust have received
national exposure. Plans are well underway for this years forthcoming
" Fortnight of Action". Further details will follow
soon.
Trust
Support Community Football

As
part of its ongoing commitment to the community, the Honest
Men Trust has agreed a three year sponsorship of the West of
Scotland Youth Football Leagues.
Donald
McNeill of the Trust said
“We
are confident our involvement with this thriving organisation
will allow us not only to promote local youth football but also
reinforce one of our main themes – driving racism out
of sport. Our campaign - “Showing Racism the Red Card”
has met previously with an excellent response but much remains
to be done. The League with its over 100 teams and involving
players from age 8 through to 19 with some 2000 players involved
in Ayrshire week in week out is the perfect vehicle for this.
As
one of the Leagues previous sponsors was Bill Barr, former chairman
of Ayr United, there is a nice sense of continuity in our support”
At
a recent meeting with representatives from all the clubs, Lynn
McBride from the Leagues thanked Neil Bone and Callum Yorke
from the Trust for its support.
The
Trust is running a fund raising Race Night at the Auld Hoose
on New Road, Ayr on Friday 7th September, starting at 7.00pm.
Tickets are only £5 at the door or ring 07922 045474.
All welcome.
