THE HONEST MEN TRUST

Craig Picks Up Trust Award at Sportsman Dinner

Well over 100 fans supported the Honest Men Trust’s Sportsmen’s Dinner at the Hospitality Suite at Somerset Park to see David Craig receive the Trust’s Player of the Year award. Malcolm Shotton, a cult player with Ayr in the early nineties, presented the inaugural Ally MacLeod Memorial Trophy and said it was richly deserved for his consistently outstanding performances in a disappointing season for the relegated Club.

It was good to see United stalwarts – Alan McInally, Robert Connor and Robert Reilly supporting the Club in troubled times. Campbell Money, Manager and David Capperauld, new Chairman of the Club, also added their support to the Trust’s efforts. A nice touch was the presence of Andrew and David MacLeod, the late Ally’ sons, to see the inaugural presentation of the trophy named in memory of their father who did so much to put Ayr on the map

After dinner entertainment by Buller Reid from Logan and Scott Glynn from Tranent in East Lothian completed a great evening.
